After a loan was obtained in 1978 from the Small Business Administration, March Funeral Homes opened a location in east Baltimore with the largest staff and fleet of funeral service cars in Maryland. The building was designed by the Leon Bridges Company and was the first black-owned, full-service funeral home in the area, marking a huge success for the community.
